Event Details

 The presentation will outline the role of Albany, New York during the American Revolution. The Albany Committee of Safety will be discussed and the fact that an original unit of the Continental Army was formed in Albany during 1775. The exploits of many famous Albanians will be discussed including those of Major General Philip Schuyler and others.
 

Presenter bio: Kevin M. Bronner is a Public Service Professor at the University at Albany and is a specialist in governmental affairs. He has written a book entitled "Albany During the American Revolution Victory in Upstate New York" in 2024. He is a former member of the Colonie Town Board, and a former Board Member and President of the Pruyn House in Colonie. He was a member of the Colonie Centennial Commission in 1995-96 where he conducted historical studies about the Town of Colonie.
