“Is my kid normal?” “Why does she do that?” “How do I handle this issue?” are all questions that every parent faces. The major changes that come with adolescence can throw the best parent for a loop. In this presentation, you will have the opportunity to Ask a Therapist. We will start with a brief overview of normal brain and behavior changes in adolescence, including changes in desire for autonomy and changes in sleep patterns. We will also touch on common challenges and stressors in adolescence and basic strategies for parents/guardians to address those challenges, as well as who to ask for more help.

Anne Baker has over 15 years of experience working with teens and young adults. Prior to starting private practice in 2014 she worked in various settings including urban high schools in Boston and Schenectady and the Massachusetts Juvenile Justice System. She maintains a solo practice in Ballston Spa with a focus on ADHD, anxiety, perfectionism, and LGBTQUIA+ clients. Outside of work she enjoys weightlifting, knitting and wrangling her young children.
