Program Description

Event Details

How can scientists find out what distant stars and planets are made of when they’re millions of miles away? The light that shines back to us on Earth can tell us all sorts of things about them. Light is made up of many colors with different wavelengths and frequencies, but unless they are separated, we can’t see them all. This is where spectroscopy can help. Join Dr. Mindy Townsend with Dudley at Siena in learning about the science behind spectroscopy and separating light into a rainbow of colors and build your own simple spectroscope.

For teens entering grades 6 to 12 in the fall. Registration required.
