Film expert and Menands Public Library Director Lenny Zapala is offering the first of a five-installment series with the movie The Maltese Falcon. An icon is born.  Chasing the "back bird."  After ten years of hard work, the persona Bogart created has become heroic.  The perfect cast includes Mary Astor, Sydney Greenstreet, Peter Lorre, and Elisha Cook.  The movie is directed by John Huston.
