Film expert and Menands Public Library Director Lenny Zapala is offering the third of a five-installment series with the movie Dark Passage.  Vincent Parry (Bogart) convicted of killing his wife, has just escaped from Prison.  After beating up a cab driver (who later in the movie helps Parry find a plastic surgeon), is picked up by Irene Janson (Bacall).  Though the two have never met, Irene helps Parry avoid the police and hides him in her home.  Just your run-of-the-mill Noir love story.  With Agnes Moorehead. The movie is directed by Delmer Daves.
